MISSION ALIGNMENT PROCESS
MAP Mission: To align our diocese for missionary fruition and lead in this age of change.
The Catholic Church is the longest continually running institution in the world. She keeps herself relevant in every age because she is more than a human institution; she is also divine. It is the Holy Spirit that makes sure the Catholic Church is relevant in every age, and every age must look to her for inspiration and guidance. Recent declines in Mass attendance, baptisms, vocations to the priesthood and other factors are challenging us to take a fresh look at ourselves. In response, Bishop Michael Barber, S.J. is asking every Catholic in the Oakland diocese to support the Mission Alignment Process (MAP).
Guided by the Holy Spirit, this process will help us align our precious resources: our wonderful lay faithful, our parishes and schools, our clergy, and our financial resources for missionary fruition. Change is never easy, but when did God ever say that our lives would be easy? The way to salvation always has a cross in its path. But it is precisely the cross which leads us to new life.
MAP Survey Coming Soon to St. Anne's Parishioners
Please Read !We need your help!
We want to encourage all St. Anne's parishioners to participate in a parish survey called Disciple Marker Index (DMI) conducted by the Catholic Leadership Institute, as commissioned by the Diocese of Oakland! The September edition of the Catholic Voice explained the Mission Alignment Process (MAP).
Please help us by participating in a 10–15- minute survey online. The first step in this process is the Completion of a survey by parishioners in every parish in the Diocese. The survey is available online from October 14 until November 22.
Online completion of the survey is the preferred alternative due to lower cost, but paper copies of the survey will also be available for those who prefer it. However if you prefer a paper copy, you may pick up a paper copy of the survey after daily and Sunday Masses or at the office.
The survey gives parishioners the opportunity to reflect on two things: 1) Individual Spiritual Growth 2) Engagement with the Parish.
The questions themselves will focus on your attitudes and beliefs, relationship to the parish and satisfaction, your participation in the parish, and demographic Information.
The survey is anonymous .All responses will be confidential, and the parish will only receive information about the community as whole. We will share the link in the next bulletin We are trying to get the highest response rate possible. This information will be invaluable to Father Leonard as we plan and strive to be the best disciples we can be.
We will receive the results this spring/ summer at which time we will share what we have learned with the entire parish. if you would like more Information about MAP you will find it on the diocese website: Realigning Resources for Mission - Diocese of Oakland CA - Oakland, CA (oakdiocese.org)
